How to Keep Your Clothes From Dying Your Skin

I recently bought a new set of scrubs for school. The first time I wore them they dyed my skin black. How can I keep this from happening in the future?
                                                          ~Future Nursing Assistant~

Dear Future Nursing Assistant,
Always wash your new clothes before wearing them. Many clothes come with a warning that the color of the clothing can transfer to other clothing or to the skin. Dark indigo jeans, dark colored clothing or anything that you've had personally dyed need to be washed to prevent the colors from bleeding. These items might even need to be washed several times until the water that drains from the washing machine runs clear. When you wash the clothes again, wash them separately with like colors only. This will prevent the color from bleeding onto your other clothes.

How to Get dye off your skin

I recently bought a new set of scrubs for school. The first time I wore them they dyed my skin black. How can I get the dye off my skin and how can I keep this from happening in the future?
                                                          ~Future Nursing Assistant~

Dear Future Nursing Assistant,
I've had that happen before, and I know how frustrating it can be. Back then, I had few options so I simply let it wear off. Thanks to the internet, you have more options. here's some of the suggestions I found...

1.  Whether you've dyed your clothing or dyed your hair a new color, dyed skin was not the goal. Although soap and water paired with a loofah can remove the majority of dye stains on the skin, when that fails, or when abrasives aren't a good solution, using nail polish remover is a proven household stain remedy.
                 Instructions:
Wash the affected skin with soap and water.
Dampen a cotton ball with nail polish remover.
Rub the stained skin with the dampened cotton ball. Replace the cotton ball when it becomes saturated with dye.
Rinse the now unstained skin thoroughly with water to remove any traces of nail polish remover.

2.  Scrub your hands (or whatever part of your body has been stained) with hand soap, warm water and an abrasion scrubbing pad. This will remove as much dye as possible.

3. Use a lye soap to wash the remaining stains. Lye soap work well on stains because it has a high pH or acidity. Purchase a lye soap at any dye shop or crafts store. Wash skin under warm water using the lye soap and a scrubbing pad.

4. Make a scrub using the juice from a whole lemon and baking soda (use just enough baking soda to make a paste). Both the baking soda and the lemon work to "bleach" the dye, scrubbing away the color without being too harsh to your skin.

Don't use household chlorine bleach to remove the stains, as it can irritate the skin.

Distance between friends

I have a couple friends that I was close to, and recently they seem to be distancing themselves. I don't know if I've done something wrong, or if its nothing to be concerned with? What should I do?  ~TG~

Dear TG,
Are you sure that your friends are pushing away or could it possibly be that they are enjoying their time together so much that they don't even know that you are feeling left out? Have you actively tried to gain their attention, or some how shown them that you miss your time together?

This might be a good 1st step. Maybe you should attempt to schedual a get-together. have lunch, go shopping, rent a movie, play cards. Anything is good and a few hours can change alot of hard feelings; esp if you are doing something productive.

Husband has a dangerous job

My husband just started working at the coal mine. It is a dangerous job & I'm having trouble dealing with my own fears. ~Coal Miners Wife (CMW)

Dear CMW,
I totally understand your fears, and why you have them. I know, it can't possibly be easy to relax, knowing that the man you love risks his life in order to support your family, but guess what? People do it all the time. Everyday...Soldiers stand on the front line in war, firemen enter burning buildings, police officers face criminals who can kill them, Truckers run the risk of driving off the road. Hell even store clerks, resturant workers, and teachers could face danger...

Those are risks these good men/women CHOOSE to take and because they do, we live in a better world.

With that I suggest you take the time to communicate with your spouse about your fears. Maybe make friends with other coal miners and their families. Maybe by making bonds with these people you will ease your fears.

Good luck.

BooHoo Boy

Ok I like this guy but he keeps running back to his ex when they get into a fight then he shows up on my door step boo whooing. One thing leads to another & well ya get the pic. What should I do ?
                                                                ~By Anonymous

Dear Anonymous,
It sounds like you have feelings for this person, why else would you allow him to treat your heart like a revolving door? I know it's easier said than done, but you need to tell "Romeo" to make up his mind or take a hike! It's obvious that you aren't ok with his actions, so why let him keep treating you like he does?

Loose Loose Situation

What do think I should do. I have this friend who has been cheating on her boyfriend who is also my friend we all grew up together. Should I tell him she is cheating? I don’t want to loose their friendship. But its not right & I have told her how I felt about the whole thing. But she just continues cheating. & not always with the same guy.

By Loose Loose Either Way (LLEW)

PS: I have always had a crush on him, and don’t want him thinking I am making it up.

Dear LLEW,
This is a tough situation, my suggestion is that you follow your heart. If you feel you need to say something, do it. But think about it like this hypothetical situation...

You walk in on two people fighting, lets say they are siblings... you jump in to try to stop the fight. In the mean time they both turn on you for meddeling in "family" affairs. Then after they deal w/ your meddeling, they go back to their fight against one another.

These things really happen, & when it does it is truely a loose loose situation. You may open the eyes of the victim but on the other hand you cross the line of friendship & violate the trust of the other.  It comes down to what's more important keeping a horrible secret and violating your own code of ethics or being true to yourself and standing up for what you believe is right.

If you have made your opinion known to the chaeting friend, then she already knows it is bothering you. Maybe you should talk to her again. Tell her how you feel and be a little less suttle. Tell her that if this continues that you will stand up for your moral beliefs and talk to her spouse. Maybe even suggest her telling him in front of you or visa versa.

As for your "crush". I don't know that your "crush" matters as long as your actions are based on good intentions. Basically...As long as you are doing everything w/ the best intentions for everyone involved... you aren't crossing a boundry line. Just don't go jumping into a relationship w/ the guy... ok?

Mrs Right

How long does it take to find the right woman (True Love) ~The seeker~

Dear Seeker,
Your Mrs. right could be someone you already know or she could be someone you have yet to meet. I think the important part is that a person stay open to any/all possibilities. Alot of possibilities are missed because people don't place them selves in situations to meet like minded people or they  fail to keep an open mind when they do.. Good luck :)

Revolving Door Relationships

Why is it fine for man to break up with one woman to start seeing another only to come back to the first to have sex then when she ask if they are getting & or are back together he tells her he don’t know what to do that he has feeling for both but don’t know who to choose now if a woman did that she would be a whore.

By Confused

Dear Confused,
It sounds like there is a need for two answers. First, the man needs to do some soul searching. He obviously don't know what he wants and therefore probably shouldn't be having sex with ANYONE. If he is in a relationship and isn't telling the person, he is CHEATING. Second, the lady who allows such action needs to be asking herself why she allows it. YES I understand a human's sexual/emotional needs, but there is a little thing called self respect that should be waving a red flag. After all this woman deserves to be loved not used... And if he is cheating on one, he will probably do the same to the other.

All Is Good~ By Lonely

Why is it alright for a man to completely ignore a woman that he has been dating & then call / text her out of the blue & think its all good.

By Lonely Text

Dear Lonely Text,
Is it possible that the male wasn't "ignoring" the lady at all. Maybe he was just busy taking care of other issues, forgot to call/text,  and she took it wrong? Sounds like maybe these two need to COMMUNICATE their needs.

Why do People Expect Valentines Day Gifts

Why do woman automatically think a man should get them something for Valentine’s Day When they have only been with a man for a short time. ~By Shoot Cupid

Dear "Shoot Cupid",
Face it, Valentines day was created manufactuers. Then society began training youth at young ages to show love by spending money on materialistic items. It is this type of training that causes people in general (not just women) to expect gifts (not just for V-day but christmas, easter, wedding annaversaries, etc)

Tired Of The same Question

Why is it that men always ask, what is the best way to turn a woman on when as with men not all are the same. ~Tired of the same question.

Dear Tired,
It seems that everyone is looking for the perfect answer to the same question. What do I need to do to turn on my mate? The fact is there is no right or wrong answer because everyone has different needs and desires. What works for one person, may run another person off. So, I suggest you tell people to ask the person who they are interested in, what turns him/her on. Remember Communication is the key to any/all healthy relationships :)

Pubic Hair?

Q: Not trying to be perverted but, is the new style for a female to be bushy, trimmed or bald? ~Anonymous~

A: I do not believe there is a right or wrong answer to this question, it all depends a person's personal preference. Everyone has their own "turn ons/offs".  ~Blazing Angel~

Dating a longtime Friend?

Q: Do you think asking a longtime friend out on a date is a good thing or just asking for trouble? ~Anonymous~

Dear Anonymous, Do u value the friendship....where do u see things months down the line? Listen to your heart.... Personally, I believe u need a perfect friendship for a successful relationship, but is it worth losing the friendship if it ends? My experience says no.
                                                                                                                     W/Love,

Signifigant Other Doesn't Want To Text

Q: what would you think if your significant other told you not to text all the time cause he didn't want to run out of minutes?
~MD~

Dear MD,
Thanks for writing...
My reaction would depend on a person's phone plan. For instance, lets say your friend has Straittalk unlimited talk, text, & data... he wouldn't have to worry about talk or text time. He would be able to use his phone as much as he wants. On the other hand if he has a phone plan with a minute or text limits, and you text too often... you could cause him to go over budget which might cause you to lose the ability to call or text when you need him.

Personally,
I think you need to talk to your friend. Ask him about his phone plan. If he is on a limit, be more courteous. And while your at it.... ask yourself why you are worried about this... I mean... you seem a little insecure,  like you are worried about something else. If that's the case then you don't trust your friend, which means the issues are more serious than his phone plan.

What turns a woman on the most about a guy?

Q: What turns a woman on the most about a guy? Explain?
                                                                     ~ Anonymous~

A: It's all about personal preference. One persons prince is another toad. I personally am attracted to long haired intellectual men who know how to give/and receive attention.... (its even better if they are old fashion gentlemen on the streets and dominate in the bedroom.)
 With Love
~Blazing Angel~

can you tell from one kiss if you like someone or not?

Q: Do you think you can tell from one kiss if you like someone or not?  ~Anonymous ~

A: You can not tell intellectual or personality attraction by one kiss what a kiss does is add a physical component to an already formed attraction.... I think it definitely holds weight in the long term decision but its not the over all deal breaker.
                                                                                    W/Love,

Poor Guy w/ A Great Personality

Lets say you were dating, and you found a guy who had an exceptional in personality, but, he had lost everything due to a work related injury - would you date him anyway?
                                                                                                  ~Poor Guy W/ A Great Personality~

Dear Poor Guy W/ A Great Personality,

When seeking a mate, a person should ask themselves questions like... Do "I" value the individual's personality, instead of their wallet. What type of person are they? Are they caring? Are they abusive? Do "we" share similar interests, hopes, and dreams? Seek your answer from within your own heart... If, you can't answer those questions with a positive answer, then you already know what you need to do.

NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS THAN YOU DESERVE....
